On 30 September 1770, during the annual celebration at San Giovanni in Monte of S Anthony of Padua, Mozart and his father heard a Beatus Vir of Carretti’s composition. While at the festivities, the Mozarts also ran into the English music historian Charles Burney, who had first met Mozart in London in 1764 or 1765.
