Composed in late 1790, the Adagio and Allegro was entered by Mozart in his thematic catalogue in December as 'A piece for an organ in a clock.' It is presumed to be the one the works (together with K608, dated 3 March 1791) composed for Joseph Count Deym von Střítež's mausoleum in memory of Field Marshall Gideon Laudon.
