Johann Sebastian Freisauff (?, 21 January 1684–Salzburg, 1767) was an iron dealer and tax official in Salzburg; he was married to Maria Elisabeth (née Schallhammer, ?-before 1764). The family lived at Schloss Neudegg (Nonntaler Hauptstrasse 51-52). A daughter, Maria Theresia ('Tresel Freysauf' in the Mozart letters; Salzburg, 11 March 1712–Salzburg, 5 October 1757), married the businessman Franz Bernhard Stainer (?-Salzburg, 4 July 1770) on 25 November 1754; they owned a shop at Judengasse 13. Her brother, Joseph Kaspar (Salzburg, 8 February 1715-Salzburg, 6 May 1803), was also a businessman. The family residences, part of which the Mozarts considered renting in 1766, fronted on both the Waagplatz and the Judengasse.
